Do you need a licence to run a drone program? No, you don’t need to be a certified drone pilot to run mini-drone sessions at your school or club. We’ll help you understand the rules and what to look out for. We are guided by and work within the CAA guidelines.
How long does the Classroom Drone Essentials workshop last? We base the workshop on 2.5 hrs of delivery with an hour to set up and pack away. We can customise the session to fit with an area of focus, such as Geography, Maths or English - depending on what you want to achieve.
How many students can attend a workshop? The Classroom Drone Essentials workshop works best with a maximum of 30 children per session.
I have never flown a drone, is it hard? No, the microdrones we use are easy to set up and use. Teachers can take part in the workshop alongside the children to gain confidence in using the technology in class.
Is it suitable for SEN/ SEMH schools and alternative providers? Absolutely, it is important to us to be all inclusive. We will work with you to ensure the workshop is tailored to your students, and make sure they have the best day as drone pilots!.
How much are the workshops? Our costs very much depend on the level of customisation required. For the 'off the shelf' Classroom Drone Essentials workshop I charge £600.00 per day. This would allow for two workshops of 30 students (60 students in total over the course of the day). Looking for one workshop for your class? I can visit for a morning or afternoon - costs for one workshop would be £325 Please note, additional costs for travel and accommodation may apply depending on your location. I also offer sessions for teachers and staff to learn how to integrate drones into their classes. Funding will be sought where possible to support schools with the cost of these sessions.
